Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 July 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of PhysioDirect (the “Platform”, “we”, “us”), operated for users in Singapore. By creating an account, browsing physiotherapist listings, or making a booking request, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. What PhysioDirect is — and who you contract with
PhysioDirect is a directory and booking platform. We help patients find registered physiotherapists, request appointments, and pay; we help physiotherapists list their professional profile and manage incoming booking requests.
When a booking is made through the Platform, the contract for physiotherapy treatment is formed directly between you (the patient) and the physiotherapist. PhysioDirect acts only as the physiotherapist's disclosed agent for the limited purposes of concluding the booking on the physiotherapist's behalf and collecting payment from you on the physiotherapist's behalf. Payment made to PhysioDirect in that capacity discharges your payment obligation to the physiotherapist to the extent of the amount paid.
- We do not provide healthcare services. We are not a clinic, hospital, or licensed healthcare provider, and we do not provide physiotherapy, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment ourselves.
- We do not employ the physiotherapists. Physiotherapists on the Platform are independent practitioners (or staff of independent clinics), and we have no right to control the manner in which they assess or treat you. Clinical judgement is theirs alone.
- Matching and AI features are navigation only. Any matching, triage routing, or AI-assisted guidance on the Platform exists solely to help you find a suitable physiotherapist — it is never a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or substitute for professional clinical judgment. See Section 6.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and book for yourself. Bookings for a person under 18 may only be made by a parent or legal guardian, who must consent to the treatment and ensure that a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult is present throughout any session. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials confidential.
Physiotherapists registering on the Platform must hold current, valid registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (“AHPC”) of Singapore and must provide accurate registration details.
3. Verification and no endorsement
Where a physiotherapist claims a profile or registers directly, we check their claimed registration details against the AHPC register at the time of verification. A “Verified” badge means only that this point-in-time check succeeded as at its date. It is not continuous or real-time monitoring of the physiotherapist's registration or standing, and it is not an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee by PhysioDirect of any physiotherapist's skill, quality of care, or suitability for your condition. You remain responsible for your own choice of practitioner.
Some profiles are created directly by the physiotherapist (self-signup). Others originate from publicly available, factual professional information (such as an official registration register or public clinic listing) and remain unclaimed until the physiotherapist verifies ownership. Unclaimed listings display factual information only and never carry reviews or ratings. See our Privacy Policy for how unclaimed profiles are sourced, and our Community Guidelines for how to claim or request removal of a listing.
4. Bookings, fees, and payments
This section describes how booking and billing work on the Platform:
- Requesting. You propose up to three preferred time slots to a physiotherapist. The physiotherapist has 48 hours to accept one of the proposed slots before the request expires.
- Deposit. When the physiotherapist accepts a slot, the booking is confirmed and you pay a deposit of S$20 via Stripe Checkout within 24 hours to secure the appointment. Card details are processed by Stripe directly; PhysioDirect never stores your full card number.
- Session fee. The session fee is a flat S$180 for a session of approximately 45–60 minutes. It is billed after the session has been delivered, with your paid deposit credited in full against it (so the balance due is S$160 where the S$20 deposit was paid).
- Transport fee. Home visits may carry a transport fee of S$50, which will be disclosed to you at the time of booking before you commit.
- How you pay. The post-session balance is payable by card or PayNow through a secure Stripe-hosted invoice sent to you, or in cash to the physiotherapist, in which case the cash payment is recorded on the Platform.
- GST. No GST is charged on Platform fees. PhysioDirect is not GST-registered.
- Cancellations and refunds (including deposit refunds, no-shows, and rescheduling) are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
All amounts are collected by PhysioDirect as the physiotherapist's disclosed agent, as described in Section 1.
5. Not for emergencies
- Severe chest pain or breathlessness.
- A suspected fracture, or a limb you cannot bear weight on after trauma.
- New loss of bladder or bowel control, or numbness in the saddle area (the inner thighs, buttocks, or area you would sit on) — these can indicate cauda equina syndrome, a surgical emergency.
- Complications after recent surgery, such as a wound that is opening, discharging, hot, or increasingly painful, or a swollen, painful calf.
Our booking flow includes a fixed, rules-based check for red-flag symptoms that operates independently of any AI model; if your description matches a red-flag pattern, you will be directed to urgent or emergency care instead of a routine booking. This check, and any matching or AI-assisted feature, is a navigation aid only — it never diagnoses, prescribes, or recommends treatment, and always defers to a registered clinician's assessment.
6. Physiotherapy carries inherent risks
Physiotherapy assessment and treatment are physical activities that carry inherent risks even when performed competently — including temporary soreness or discomfort, bruising, aggravation of existing symptoms, and, in rare cases, injury. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed. By booking, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept these inherent risks of treatment provided by the independent physiotherapist.
To be clear about what this acknowledgment is not: it does not excuse negligence. It does not exclude or limit the physiotherapist's responsibility for their own negligence, and it does not exclude PhysioDirect's liability for death or personal injury caused by PhysioDirect's own negligence (see Section 10). The operative assumption-of-risk and release terms you accept at booking are set out in the Patient Booking & Indemnity Agreement.
7. Home visits: your premises, your part of the bargain
For home-visit appointments, you agree to provide a reasonably safe, clean, and suitable environment for treatment — including safe access to your premises, adequate space and lighting, and securing pets and hazards. You are responsible for the condition of your premises and the conduct of other occupants during the visit. The physiotherapist may pause or end a session they consider unsafe. See our Home-Visit Safety Guidelines for practical expectations on both sides, including chaperone arrangements.
Home-visit sessions for a patient under 18 require the prior consent of a parent or legal guardian, and a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult must be present for the whole session.
8. Non-solicitation of physiotherapists
Building and verifying the directory, matching, and booking infrastructure is how the Platform sustains itself. In consideration of that service, you agree that for 6 months after your most recent booking with a physiotherapist who was introduced to you through PhysioDirect, you will not solicit, book, or pay that physiotherapist for physiotherapy services outside the Platform, and will not assist anyone else to do so, in order to bypass the Platform.
If you circumvent this clause, you agree to pay PhysioDirect a referral fee of S$1,000, which the parties agree is a genuine pre-estimate of the value of the introduction and of the loss to PhysioDirect from the circumvention, and not a penalty. This clause does not restrict you from engaging any physiotherapist you already knew or found independently of the Platform, and it never restricts your access to care — you are always free to book the same physiotherapist through the Platform.
9. Reviews and acceptable use
Reviews may only be left by patients who completed a booking through the Platform with that physiotherapist, and cover non-clinical aspects of the experience (such as punctuality, communication, and professionalism) — not clinical outcomes or diagnoses. We do not remove genuine reviews in exchange for payment.
You agree not to:
- Provide false identity, registration, or booking information.
- Use the Platform to solicit contact outside the booking flow in a way that undermines patient safety, platform integrity, or Section 8.
- Scrape, bulk-extract, or republish listings or profile data without authorisation.
- Post reviews, bios, or messages that are defamatory, harassing, or medically unsafe (e.g. specific dosing or diagnostic claims).
10. Liability
What is never excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits: (a) PhysioDirect's liability for death or personal injury caused by PhysioDirect's own negligence; (b) liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any right or remedy you have under law that cannot be excluded or restricted, including your rights under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003, which are unaffected by these Terms. Every limitation below applies subject to this paragraph.
Independent practitioners. Because the treatment contract is between you and the physiotherapist (Section 1), PhysioDirect is not liable for the clinical acts, omissions, advice, or conduct of any physiotherapist, who is an independent practitioner responsible for their own practice and professional indemnity insurance. Your recourse for clinical care is against the treating physiotherapist, and you may also raise professional-conduct concerns with the AHPC.
Cap and exclusions for the Platform itself. Subject to the first paragraph of this Section, PhysioDirect's total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Platform's own services is capped at the total fees you paid through the Platform for the booking giving rise to the claim, and PhysioDirect is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, or data.
11. Disputes: talk first, then Singapore courts
If a dispute arises between you and PhysioDirect, both parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve it by negotiation, and where appropriate mediation, for at least 30 days from written notice of the dispute before starting court proceedings. If it is not resolved, the dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. These Terms contain no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver, and nothing in this Section prevents you from complaining to a regulator or exercising any non-excludable statutory right.
12. Changes to these Terms; force majeure
We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves. For material changes — including any change to fees, deposits, or your legal rights — we will give you at least 14 days' notice by email before the change takes effect; changes do not apply retroactively to bookings already confirmed. Non-material changes will be reflected by an updated date on this page. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the Platform before it takes effect.
Neither party is liable for delay or failure to perform (other than payment obligations already due) caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including epidemics or pandemics and related government measures, natural disasters, utility or telecommunications failures, and cyber events such as hacking, denial-of-service attacks, or malware, provided the affected party takes reasonable steps to mitigate.
13. Contact
